help me help my truck!

Hello to All of You, This is my first post, after reading and learning from all of you. I have a problem with my 69 C10-350. I was having problems with my taillights, very dim (rust and rust and more rust)so after reading here I ran new ground wires to the frame from the battery and to the motor from the battery. I also ran another ground from the battery to the firewall at one of the two studs that hold the parking brake. After checking each lamp and running new grounds to both , this fixed my taillight problems(sunglasses now required!) but when I went to start the truck-nothing, no clicks, clacks, nothing.
I noticed when turning the ignition key , that the brake light indicator on the dash lights up. Any ideas from you guys would be greatly appreciated!
