home made wood bed. need specs.

im gana try an do this in the nex week or so. would like a guide line to go by. can someone please tell me how the made thier own wood bed. what kind of wood, alll the parts, tools and space needed. i assume its cheeper then geting the already routed planks. i know ill have to buy the metal strips. someone help me out. i need somethn to do!..thanks. w.

also its for a short stepper. but i dont think it would matter i can just adjust the measurements to fit..
