Rear Axle 5 lug

I purchased an 84 suburban for a donor vehicle. It will work for the front axle/disk brake conversion but will not for the rear axle. I found the 84 axle is much longer than my current.

Can I not just pull my 66 rear axles and have them converted to a 5 bolt pattern so I can maintain the same rear axle? Drum brakes are drum brakes in the rear, as long as they are not leaking and adjusted properly they work just fine; so I don't mind having the 66 axle.
