I hope to really get crankin' on my truck soon. It has a built 305 in it now from one of the previous owners which I'm not real excited about. It's got an eldebrock intake and holley carb. That's about all I know about it. It doesn't run great and it has a funny tick that I haven't been able to track down so I'm going to take it to someone who can figure it out. If it needs a lot of work on it, I'd rather just get something else to put in it. I like the idea of a 6 banger because it's different from all the 350s. I'd love to have a big block but I'm on a stricter budget than that. So, here are the questions...

1) If I go the 6 route, should I look for a 292 or what? I'd like it to be a good driver with a little kick.

2) If I decided to go the 350 route, will the intake match up? I'd rather do something different honestly, but it may be the cheapest route.

Any info appreciated. Thanks.
