Saying Hi! and my first question: WIpers

I have been lurking for about a month now and could not resist, I had to join. I have been to quite a few other sites / boards, but this one is by far the most informative and friendly...

The question:

Where does the factory windshield washer pump and washer jar mount on a '68 Stepside LWB? The hoses have been cut where they come through the firewall from the cowl and the complete under hood area was gooped up with black paint. Hard to tell where it should go. I think the jar goes a little front of center of the drivers side fenderwell and the pump to the drivers side firewall in between the master cylinder and the fender... am I close?

The wiper motor works but the wipers jerk when moving, any ideas?
