Re: Road trip pickup and a lot of questions..
the books say aprox 21 gallons on the fuel tank.
There were a LOT made with 17 - 18 gallon tanks too, but I've seen no documentation of them, seems to be mostly 67/68 trucks. I had actually mnt to say something about tires. Rubber items in general. There are sections of rubber fuel line under the cab from the factory (and about 12 FEET of it if you have a factory or dealer installed Aux fuel tank) there's rubber fuel line by the pump. and it is very common to find rubber installed between the pump and the carb, but not there originally. Check all those places. Tires.... sometimes you simply can't tell if the tires are gonna work or not. When I tire sits, they deteriorate, but you'll never know. I had a Michilin that had tread a mile deep, no dry rot, no flat spots.... BOOM. Blew out of no aperant reason. The part that would really sick if you hade a tire go out for no reason.... you have awesomecondition originalpaint. If you have the funds.... you might want to consider stopping at a tire store at the begining of your trip. Funny... those two items I just listed, are the only two that I had issues with. |
