alt. bracket problems

hey guys i got a 69 GMC 1/2t with a 350engine and im having major problems finding the proper bracket to hold the stock type alt. it seems all of the after market brackets dont have enough slot to tighten the belt up .. in other words the smallest belt needs pry bars to get it on the pullies but i run out of slot to tighten the belt

before i rebuilt the eng i had the bottem of the alt bolted to the side of the ram horn exaust manifold. Now i have headers and the lower bracket (alt to header) was not working with the stock upper alt bracket so i tryed two different upper alt (after market) ones and another after market lower one

Nothing seems too work... so what am i doing wrong ... can you help me out and show me some pics of you alt setup !!!

thanks
