Maybe it might be better to say "How is that relevant to the job I'm applying for ?" in the most polite way possible when asked the question. It's really an invalid question if the job doesn't require driving during working hours. I would answer "The vehicle I drive is irrelevant, but I can assure you that I do have reliable transportation and I will be here on time when scheduled to work."

If you must drive up to a small place of business where the person who will be interviewing you may see you pull up, or walk outside when you leave, maybe borrowing a newer car from someone might be a good idea, even if they don't ask what you drive.

If you can get past this stumbling block and get a job with the truck you have, you may be able to keep the truck and buy whatever other vehicle you want. Always nice to have a backup.
