383 Stroker Build Questions

hey guys
im lookin to pull the old rebuilt 350 out and build a 383 stroker. im just wondering if a 383 short block is the same as taking a 350 and boring it out and putting a stroker kit in it? anybody know how i should go about this?

p.s. i can still use the 350 topend i have know right? and if you have a 383 this would be the time to show it off!!!
