Re: crew cab questions

You CANNOT use a LWB frame for a Crew Cab SWB conversion. You MUST use a Crew Cab frame and shorten it or graft a LWB 1/2T from on. If you use a Regular cab frame you would be missing the whole frame section under the cab that makes a crew cab frame a crew cab frame. It would be more trouble than it is worth to add 4 feet to a LWB frame to mount the new cab that it would be to remove 15" from a Crew cab frame or graft a Regular LWB frame on.

I only answered when the diesel started, gas engines were available during whole run. Computers started in 1987 with the TBI, the ESC started in 1981. You will need to shorten the brake lines, driveshaft at a mininum. You are changing anything in the rear suspension except bolting it on. All Crew Cabs are 246.4" long end to end (bumper to back of bed) and have a 164.5" wheelbase.

As stated several times over, 90% of all your questions can be answered by OJOE's (mike nutt's) thread conversion.
