Get this, my new brother-in-law (as of last Saturday) called me today regarding the brakes on his 2007 Corvette. He had told me he'd give me a good deal since he was upgrading to the big brake kit. I had told him to let me know when he came up with a price because I was interested. Well, he began the conversation today by telling me he changed the brakes today and might need my help to finish bleeding the lines. I offered without hesitation, family rolls like that.
I asked him if he ever decided on a price for the old brakes (about 6 months old) and he replied, "well, you're family, and I can't charge family for stuff I don't need." I argued with him for a while telling him I had to buy them from him. I told him I really wanted to pay him for them, even though I didn't know what they'd be worth. He replied, "Just buy me a hamburger or something." I could not resist but say, "Dude, that's got to be at least a few months worth of hamburgers." So.... now that I'm getting an awesome set of brakes, I will eventually put on, has anyone ever installed corvette calipers? I know the bolt pattern on the wheels will change, but what brackets will I need. On my build that's still in progress, I installed new 71-72 disc and all new drum hardware and drums on the rear. Any help would greatly be appreciated. |
