Longhorn sm465 vs. Np435

I have a problem here and no one seems to be able to help. I have a 69 GMC 1-Ton Longhorn with a 4-speed. Now, how many of you are saying, "Oh, he has an SM465"?? Same as I thought... Well, it turns out that it is a New Process NP435. This was the tranny, and I quote, "that was used in Dodge, Ford and a few GM trucks..." Here's the problem: I shelled out the old credit card and bought a Gear Vendors unit... for an SM465!! When I realized the problem, they were unable to help and told me to send it back for a refund. The 435 in my truck had a different output shaft or some &%$# thing and they couldn't come up with the right adaptor.

Does anybody have any info as to whether my 435 is really different than say a Ford or Dodge version? I can't find any info online about this.
