Oil pressure

I was working on my truck today. Finally got my wifes camaro done. Anyway i broke the metal line going from the oil pressure gauge to the block. I tried to use plastic kit from O'riellys but none of there fittings will go on the back of the stock oil pressure gauge. The truck is a 68 chevy with a 250 6 cyl. I tried to just take one off my brothers 72 with a v8 and the line was alot shorter. So my question is there some way to use the plastic line kit? Or does some one make the metal line i need? Any help would be great, I don't like driving it with out the gauge and i really dont want an aftermarket cluttering up my dash. Thanks.
