700r4, Slow going into Drive

I have just recently installed a rebuilt 700r4 into my truck. I bought the transmission off of a guy that rebuilds transmissions on the side.

Upon running it for the first time, I installed 8 quarts of transmission fluid and it reads that is is properly filled. I have also ran through the gears with the rear end jacked up.

I have gone on various "test runs" and the truck goes great into reverse without any delays. However, when I then shift it into drive, it takes about 4-5 seconds before the truck wants to goes into drive. Once it is in drive, it shifts properly and seems to work fine. It has had this same issue since the install.

I have ran out of ideas to look at, and not sure what direction to look into. My truck as a stock 350sb motor as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam
