My '71 Suburban (From Holland ;))

Hi!
So i told you guys a couple of times now that i would put a little story and pictures of my Suburban on this forum.
Thanks for all the help you all gave me already on the tailgate and my shifter linkage problem :P

First a little story about myself.
I'm Martijn, got 20 years old a couple of days back.
My dad bought a '75 Suburban when i was 11 and that was when the love was born :P
A big blue Chevy with a 454 Big Block :O
I was used to american cars, my dad never drove others but this was really something else!
He imported it himself, and we worked on it together.
It was also the first car i drove in myself, yup! At the age of 11

Always when people asked me what kind of car i would like myself i told them it was a '75 Suburban.
It's not really familiar here in Holland so most of the time i had to show a picture and stuff.

Then i think 5 month's ago we had a barbeque and again our new neighbours asked me what car i would like to own myself someday.
Well i told him, you probably don't know what kind of car it is but it's a Suburban!

AH!
I know someone who has one for sale a couple of miles away!
After some talking it was for a price that's in my budget (so said my neighbour) so i called the guy who had it for sale and went checking it out!

Beautifull! It was a 1971 suburban and altough it wasn't a '75 i liked it just as much.
Went to drive it around a couple of blocks and it was a thrill, me as a 19 year old guy and most of my friends we're driving Honda Civics and Audi Quattro's and stuff.
And i was driving a 4954 lbs weighting piece of steel
COOL!!

Went to do some talking with the guy who had it for sale, and he told me he liked to get another 2000 bucks for it (above the 4000 he first told me)
I was pissed because i couldn't afford it.
Went home, being pissed for another 2 days and after that went to some banks to try to get some extra money.
After a week i finally got a bank who would lend me the money so of we went!
Go make the buy!

Finally my own car
My parents we're both against it but i did it anyway :P

Well enough of this crap.
Now something about the car.

It has a 350 CUi Motor in it, which is just 3 years old.
A TH350 Tranny which is i think 2 years old now.
Special new radiator, it had a little leak in it the previous owner said so he put in a new one, Heavy Duty stuff
It had Airco but not anymore, got everything in a crate so i can put it back on again if i want to.

Came in 2001 here to Holland, (nope i didn't import it myself) and they put in a new LPG system (which is really a relief here because the gas prices are going thru the roof)

The things i've done at it at the moment:

- New brakes, rear and front
- Put an electrical fan on it
- New heater core because it was leaking (duh :P)
- New motor mount
- Checking ALL the wiring and removing the stuff which doesn't belong in the car

I'm forgetting some stuff probably but this is just a small list what i've done now.
Next project is new valve seals, probably next week

Here the last pic

Thanks for reading, have some more pics of you guys want them
Cheers!
