So I blew the ring in my #6....

SBC 350.

I *think* its the original engine. So first off, someone tell me how to confirm this. I know I need the block ID, but who/where do I look to confirm things?

If it IS the original engine, I am tempted to rebuild and bore to 383. If it is not, I am thinking crate 350 or 383.

Im a semi decent mechanic, in that I usually can figure out how to remove things and get them back together, but I have NEVER rebuilt any engine. Maybe a lawnmower... my dad ended up buying a new one.

HALP - I clearly need some advice.

Pissed I can't drive the truck to the dog park this weekend.
