Gas Tank Float Question?

Okay, so I'm tired of replacing floats. I've replace the one in the Bel Air twice The first was an aftermarket one that came with the repro gas tank and sender and it filled up, the second was a replacement float from aftermarket and it filled up, I then spent awhile soldering up the first float and looking for leaks and put it back in, that was 6 months ago, and now it is starting to slowly not get to full on fill ups (now it goes just past half). The suburban float is also full, and I'm not looking forward to dropping the tank and replacing it with yet another brass float. Has anyone found a plastic aftermarket float? Is there a certain solder I should be using? There has to be a good solid solution.
