Post Swapping intake/carb on an 85 305

I pulled off the air cleaner on my 85 today and couldnt believe all the crap thats under there. I'd rather do a haedgasket job on a new Honda than on this thing.
Anyway, how could I swap my edelbrock intake/carb on without screwing with the computer. In other words, what do I need to leave on the truck? I still have to pass inspection and emissions after I get it running so I cant just throw all the old stuff out. But theres way too much sh*t under there to put back together. Im sure theres a few of you who have done this before...
