Best place to get disc conversion kit/front end parts??

My '69 pasture king just got back from having the transmission re-built. I asked the gentleman to have a peek at the front brakes and throw on a new set of shoes, as it was starting to get a little Flintstone like.

The prognosis was bad and i was told i would need a complete rebuild (wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, etc.) which was 7 to 800 bucks on his dime

He recommended and i agreed, that an upgrade to front discs would be a better deal, then i would just have to contend with the back drums, --

Anyway - i have a CPP catalog, and their "grand slam" kit is 1300 bucks --- but i wanted some insight on where the rest of you buy your stuff?

Classic Trucks magazine seem to rely on McGaughy's and i am sure there are more, maybe even a board member. I know its not a cheap list of parts, but if i could either save a few dollars or get a recommend on someone who has quicker shipping or whatever, that would be awesome
