I purchased this cell new and had it sitting in a project vehicle. I never put fuel in it. If need be, foam may be removed from tank by simply pulling it out thru the fill cap. It's big enough to fit your hand in there. Also, the tank is partially baffled in the area of the sending unit so fuel slosh shouldnt be a problem if foam is removed.
