ol Curt Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: Newburgh, IN Posts: 1,247	Possible Dumb Welding Question Well, I have my new welder and am getting gas for it on Friday. I'm wanting to practice welding on some scrap metal. This may sound like a dumb question, but do I need a metal table to lay the piece on before laying some short beads? I realize many of the panels I'll be welding will be held onto the truck with clamps, etc, but never really thought about welding on a scrap sheet.
