Great looking project! Of course I kept the FI for the ease of computer tuning with the turbos when they come around.
But the plumbing system and pump isn't cheap by any means! Do the carb, I think if you know how to tune them, they can make plenty of power. What cam specs you looking at? Those L92 heads can flow something rediculous! Good luck!
