67 c10 283

Hello everyone,

I have a c10 1967 w/ stock 283. Going to freshen up the motor and stick with the 283. Even though a crate 350 is cheaper, everyone has 350s and I just love that little 4.6L. Couple of questions for the 283 gurus. Keep in mind this is not going to be raced. Just daily driver/cruiser. Here is a starting list of parts I am thinking of. Please let me know your thoughts as this is the first 283 I've done.

- COMP Cams CL12-242-2
- GM Performance 12558060
- MagnaFlow 16643
- Summit SUM-G9006-9

These Vortec heads any good? On Summit site it reads

They require the use of a Vortec-style intake and self-aligning rocker arms

Summit site says they will fit a 67 283. Anyone have any experience with these heads? Or any suggestions on cam choice, heads, or exhaust? Any thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated. I'm ready to get to work.

Thanks!!
