Please Help with your Pics
The best memories of my childhood, were when we would go camping every weekend my dad could get time off from his job. My dad had a 1970 GMC Custom Camper with all the trim and chrome. It had an El Dorado camper with a 4 foot bumper extension and the stabilizers on the front to hold the cab over steady. This truck had the upper and lower trim. The color was medium gold and white. The cab top and the area under the lower trim was white and the rest was medium gold. It was similar to pictures I've seen of the 50th anniversary trucks.
I have misplaced or lost any pictures I have of this truck and the truck itself was allowed to sit and rust in a field at my mom's house in Corpus Christie Texas before it was sold recently without my knowledge. I would like to duplicate this paint job on my 71 GMC, and it would help me very much to see pictures of this factory paint scheme. I would also, for nostalgic purposes, like to see one of these El Dorado campers either on jacks in your yard, or mounted on a Chevy or GMC pickup. This camper had tan and brown panel stripes on the side of an off white type aluminum siding. It was a popular look for the time period. Thanks in advance for looking into your archives of these beautiful trucks!! Dan
