Big Block Oil Pan Removal Question

I have a '71 Chevy C/30 Longhorn with the 396/turbo 400 setup in it. It has factory air and power steering. My question is, I need to change the oil pump in it and I was wondering if it is possible to get the oil pan off and swap the pump without pulling the engine? Is there enough clearance around the crossmember, etc? It looks like there might be, but I have learned that looks can be deceiving... Thanks in advance for your help.
