Engine Color Thread: Air Cleaner Question

I was checking out the engine color thread & noticed some of the 'stock' motors had the 'single snorkel' air cleaner housing & others had the 'oil bath' style.

I know of the 'oil bath' style but never questioned their design construction or benefits. Does anyone have any 'exploded view' type of pics of each for comparison?

What type of filter element does the oil bath use?
Anyone have the dimensions of each?
Is the single snorkel for 2-barrel carbs only or did they make one for 4b's?

Thanks in advance . . .....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
