Re: Before/After Off Road Trucks

I don't have any offroading pics cuz I always went by myself and never owned a camera til now. My 71 was destined to be a hardcore rockcrawler by the PO. He had plans for 1 tons, dovetailing, full cage, bla bla bla bla. Anyways I guess he figured it took money and some mechanical skills as well as tools to make that sorta thing happen so I bought it. I wanted a capable trail runner and camping rig so I just drove it like it was upgrading the motor (read: replacing all the worn out stuff with less worn out stuff).

One day motor just gave up and I barely made it home at about 10 mph and a huge cloud of smoke following me. Out came the 350, in went a 396 but realized I was in over my head and didn't have the skill at the time to instill the BB correctly so out it came and in went a GM crate 350. Drove it like that for a few months then decided that I didn't want a offroader at all, I wanted it to look like it rolled off the showroom floor. I still plan on taking it on little excursions and having fun in it but it will be with a 2 inch lift, some 31's and stock everything else.

It's not gonna be a complete frame off or anything, I just want to fix it up a little and make it look nice. The original owner hates the fact that i'm doing this and still wants to see this blazer dovetailed and made into a hard core rockcrawler. Doesn't make sense to make a rockcrawler in San Antonio freaking Texas.

So anyways the blazer is in pieces in the garage right now and I have a 1979 Ford F150 4x4, stock, that I like to go goof around in but I don't have radical plans for it either, it's too nice to begin with.

So now I have this. It's the nices vehicle I own but for somereason I don't mind lifting it and playing in it. 2006 Jeep Unlimited

It's pretty capable offroad as is surprisingly. I keep up with a few guys that have bigger tires and such but I want it to be better.

4 inch lift, not sure which one
35's
tube front fenders
make some front and rear bumpers and a winch up front
lockers
I have possible plans in the future for a 9 inch rear and HP d44

I know it's not chevy but I figure as long as I own a chevy I should be allowed to post whatever I want in here
