I dont know if that looks like corosion as much as deposits of something on the cooler locations of the housing? have you removed any of it yet to see what it looks like underneath? Also that housing looks okay, but the o-ring might have failed so if you find a higher rated oring or maybe use some standard sealent instead i dont see anything wrong with it unless the sealing surface is warped.
