LWB to SWB or CAB SWAP??? more work??

well i finally found a bed for my LWB 85 GMC. ive pulled the motor and trans in the 85 and are currently rebuilding both. (350/350). Found an 87 SWB truck. great bed and of course the smaller 16 gal tanks that will fit the short bed.. yah hoo finally!!!. bought the whole truck rather than just pulling the bed and tanks. When i got it home and took a good look at it i found,... a tbi 350 (blown) a 700r4 trans (bonus for another project down the road) one good fender and the rest of the front trashed. the frame, a-arms, brakes, etc are in unbelievable great shape on both trucks. at first i thought i'll put the 85 cab and wiring (Really straight) on the 87 SWB, but then i thought about the tbi tanks on the 87and don't know if i can just pull the senders from the non tbi tanks and swap guts with the tbi tanks. The swapping the guts part i gotta find out either way. Or do i just do what i had originally thought and do the 11" frame shortening/bed swap on the LWB. i just can't figure out which way would be more work or be more problems in the long run. Any Opinion's??
