Can I fit 275/55/17's up front?

Hey guys, I just picked up a set of brand new Escalade 17" chrome rims for next to nothing. They have 5.5" of backspacing and they are nearly 8" wide. I already know I'll need spacers to make them work, but I wondered if you guys think I'll have any issues running 275/60/17 (29" tall ) tires up front? The reason being is I can get a great price on all 4 and I know 275/60/17's will clear the rear with ease. Plu having the same size tires all the way around will allow tire rotations, etc.

I have Brothers 3" drop springs up front, but it looks like it only dropped it 2" (maybe because the LSx motor weighes less that a SBC?). Also, if it makes any difference I will be swapping to a '73-'87 front disc brake setup (with 6 lug rotors) prior to installing the rims/tires.

Thanks guys!!
