No hi beams and volt gauge left of center

Hi guys I need some opinions ,no hi beams thought it might be a fluke, so replaced lamps and pulled light switch, they came on.(fixed I thought) started it up later and no hi beams noticed gauge showing not charging took alternator in for test showed it was charging pulled voltage reg off another of my trucks and tried that didn't help, seems like even lo beams and instrument lights are dimmer than usual. any ideas?
