Maiden voyage

Well yesterday I finally took my truck out on the road and for not replacing anything so far,it ran pretty smooth. My only hang up was the trans and how it shifts. So I took it by my godfathers house who hasn't sen it yet,who goes on to ask me "what you got the son",so I tell him a 68 with a 327.Then he looks under the hood and after a minute he say you'll get them on take off,but don't put it on the highway or you might blow the engine up.Then I say, that's why I stopped by and told him that I got it up to about 60mph and it was screaming and how I thought something was wrong with the trans. So to make a long story short he explained to me about how these trucks came out of the factory and then I told him what I wanted to do with the truck and he told me that with the big rims it will even it out a little and my rpm won't be so high. All in all he thought I'd got a good truck,so that made me feel good...Just something that I thought I'd share with you guys about my maiden voyage!!!!!!
