Coil springs

Wondering if anyone knows approx. what the stock height (measurement) of a front coil spring should be on an 80's model half ton? Kinda curious cuz I got a set of coils from a buddy of mine and they measure 13 inches and have 6 coils. He thought they were stock but they look short to me. I'm wanting to put them in my 84 swb that will have a big block and already has 2" drop spindles. Think the big block is about 100lbs heavier than a small block and if those springs arent stock, might put the truck a little lower in the front than Im wanting. I would measure the ones in the truck now but the previous owner cut them so short, when I jack the truck up the springs almost fall out so I have nothing to go by. Thanks in advance for any input.
