Question 4x4 rear end VS. 2wd

I need a question answered before I spend money on something I can't use. I need a rear end for my 68 gmc longstep. it has a dana 44 with leaf springs. It seems all of the local ones are out of 4x4 blazers or Jimmys. Will the 4x4 rear end bolt up the same as the 2wd or do I need to find a 2wd rear end? I'm not worried about the u-joint, I can make that work with a b@stard joint if necessary. I want to make sure the leafs are going to be in the same location. I don't have alot of time to mess with this and I need to get it back on the road asap.

Thanks

EDIT: I went out and messured while I'm waiting for my ride to work to get here..... my rear end messures 44 inches from outside to outside at the spring pads or perches or whatever they are called? and 30 inches outside to outside at the shock mounts...and are the e-brake cables the same?
