Gas Tank Comparison

Joe231 was asking me about the '63-'66 Suburban/Panel gas tanks, so I thought I'd post the info here for everyone to see. What I've done is a little comparison between the '63-'66 Suburban/Panel gas tanks and the '69-'72 Blazer gas tank that is so popular to use as an under the bed gas tank conversion.

The two tanks are basically the same. They are the same length and width, and the same height from the mounting flange to the top. The only difference is in the distance from the mounting flange to the bottom of the tank. The Suburban/Panel tank is about 3/4" shallower, plus it has the half round notch to accomodate the spare tire.

Anyway here are some pics. The Blazer tank is the darker gray one.
