Unhappy Frustrated need advise

Ok this saga began on Friday the 13th, my engine guy called and said you have to come see this you wont believe it. So far nothing has go right with this build and I didn't expect anything different out of my 10k rebuilt 350. So I go daown to check out the situation and find everything in the motor looks like new a pleasent suprise but pull on the harmonic ballancer and hear a nice ker-klunk looks like the engine builder forgot to turn the crank and now it is whiped.

I have to rebuild this thing again but the question is I just bought new vortec heads for the motor and since I need a new crank whould it be easier to just turn this think into a 383? The next question is how much of a difference is a 383 vs 350 stock in power and torque usually. This motor was just bored to .30 currently.

Any help or direction is appreciated.
