K10 e-brake cable to short

I am having trouble with my sons 71 K10 rear emergency brake cables, all the cables I can find seem to be to short.
First off, let me give you all the specs. 71 K10 4" lift, long wheel base 8' bed, leaf springs.
I don't remember where I purchased these cables, its a long term project
The casing is 28" long they seem to be about 10" short. Has anyone had this problem?
Anybody recently replace the rear cables on a 1/2 ton 4x4? If so did they fit and where did you get them? Part number maybe?

Any help would be appreciated.
