Hello All,

We just started on our first project 1968 GMC.
My son is training as a mechanic, so this is one of his text books. I have always loved old trucks as opposed to old cars, plus I need to run to Home Depot once in a while. We wanted something that was easy, ran, and could be done in stages while being kept on the road most of the time. He paid $800.00 for the truck, and drove it home. We are thinking in order of importance:

Phase one: Windshield, seat belts, vacuum booster for the 4 wheel drum brakes.

Phase two: Move the gas tank out of the cab, minor engine work, and start on the rotted cab.

The boy is good mechanic, and can weld well. I will hand him the tools, and foot the bills.

Great way to spend time with him.
