New guy from Upstate NY

Hello all. Finally have a good reason to join the site. I started reading the site randomly a year or two ago, but finally took the plunge and bought myself a good project vehicle.

I just recently aquired a 1970 Blazer. It was originally a 6 cyl (KS180S...) but currently has a 350 in it. It is mated to a HD 4 speed (12" clutch Option) which is original, as is the transfer case. 12 bolt rear is still good as well.

The truck runs and drives, although it is running off a gas tank bungied to the front core support, and started with a timing trigger. I need to go through the wiring harness, and dash and re-do those. The motor has about 5 hours of run time on it at most since it was built. Trans has a new clutch, and works well. THe brake system was all replaced, and includes front disc, drum rear.

The body had most of the body work done. there are two bed supports that need to be replaced, but other than that, it's just re-fitting the panels together and lining them up.

currently, I have a list of things needed to get it drivable. To purchase:

Gas tank kit and lines
Shocks
Rims and tires
bumper brackets
rear hatch for top

There is more that's needed to make it really nice, but that'll be left to next winter when the body comes off.

The truck is filled with parts, and it came with a box of parts from LMC Truck already, so I have most of the rest of the parts I need. This weekend I am going to inventory what I have.

ok, onto the pictures:

packed up and ready to go home:

And a full shot with my father's tow rig:

And the best part is it fit in my garage (76" doors)

I look forward to reading up more on this, and finding some good deals on parts. I need to sell a few more things from my other projects (I collect tonka trucks) to fun this project, and I hope to have it on the road before the end of the summer.
