Door panels

I replaced the door regulator last week. The power window motor had one broken tooth, so I replaced it too. The window tint was removed for new tint. Everything is put back together. I left the door panel off. The paint is starting to fade, peal and crack. I want to do something to cover them. I need something to look good for a couple of car shows.

I have two ideas to cover them. One, buy some vinyl and cover them. I can use spray on glue. The second idea is use speaker box carpet. I would glue it on too. Has anyone tried glueing carpet or vinyl to door panels? Does anyone have another idea?
