Shes ALIVE!

Over the past FOUR years Ive been SLOWLY working with my truck.....slowly mainly because I am not a gear head....I work on computers and do this as a hobby because of the "simplicity" (HAH) of a v8 engine. My dad and son have helped some but my father got ill and ultimately passed away this past summer after a long bout with Prostate Cancer....my dad was a mechanic for Ga Power for 35 years so he could tell me what was wrong by listening or looking...and even some times with me telling him what it sounded or looked like. Well now he is gone so you could say this has become an ode to my dad....ie finishing it by MYSELF (HAH).

Well today after a 15 min trip to McDonald for breakfast and a side trip to Advanced Auto for a new fuel pump she ROARED to life. The Purple Hornies I hung off the headers sound pretty cool....the idle was new car smooth....the timing is perfect....especially for a non gear head!

For what little I have let her run (15 second intervals for 3 or 4 different times) she sounds so sweet. Dad would have loved it. BUT my electric oil pressure is not registering so I fear for that I still may have a problem. I guess its time to read up and figure out with out dad how to handle the oil pressure problem.

Thanks to all of those who have jumped in and subsidized my dad's knowledge and help along the way!
