Where to get GM parts numbers??
I was wondering if there is anywhere to get part numbers? So that I can look up prices on gmpartsdirect.com. I bought a console from a 95-98 chevy truck off of ebay. It needed some parts, I paid $36 and some change per part. Total came to $80. I looked up the same parts on gmpartsdirect.com and the parts where $17 something per part. Thats $19 per part less then the dealership. I would have saved $30 once I paid for shipping.
Yesturday when I went to pick up the parts from the dealership I asked the guy if he could give me some part numbers for some seat tracks. He told me that he wont give me the part number cuz I might go somewhere else to buy it. DUH!!!!!!!!!! If you are going to mark your stuff up more the 100% then Im going somewhere else. Now I know the dealerships are always more but geeze are they trying to rape us? What I would like to know is if there is any way for me/us to get access to the part numbers. I know you can search gmpartsdirect.com for some but it doesnt give them all to you. How do you guys find part numbers. Of course this is for newer truck parts.
