Thumbs down don't you hate it when...

parts fall off your truck?
Yeah, it gets better too.
About a month ago, I went to bad67to72's place in Oz, which is closer to me than I had ever though, being in eastern Indiana. There was no big green floating head... but there WAS a green truck floating over the floor on jack stands. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=337249
So I finally got around to mounting the spinners on the suburban.
no... not SPINNAZ;

Spinners... simulated knock offs!;

They mount simple enough... drill a hole in the center cap... place the spinner in place, then run the 5/16th bolt (with thread locker) into the spinner and tighten down.
Well, anyone who has run these things, knows that you can't just tighten it down all tight and stuff, then you won't be able to get to all the lug nuts... they HAVE to be a bit loose.
Well, I guess one of them was just a tick too loose.
Rollin down the freeway the other day... hummin along 75 MPH or so, and someone pulls up beside me in a white Ford Explorer. Bit of a beater, but probably still worth more than just about anything I own. (not sayin much) I look over, and he is lookin at me. I just kinda wave. Way too many people wave at me around here when cruising around in the burb. Then he waves at me as he rolls down the window.
Even over the road noise, and wind noise, I hear his voice perfectly clear...
"You lost a spinner!"
He said this as he taps his windshield.
Oh crap... there's 2 cracks on his glass on the passenger side, one goes straight down, the other one goes down and to an angle.
I pull towards the side of the road, so i can give him insurance info... or trade numbers so i can get a glass guy to his place in the morning... you know, try to take care of the situation.
He waves, guns it, and takes off on an off ramp.
Cool... honestly, i didn't want to pay for his glass anyways... I would have... no questions asked. But, lets face it, I'd rather spend the money next week in puerto rico. I guess I'm selfish like that?
In all reality, it coulda been worse... if they were real knock offs and it came off, I guess my day would have been a LOT worse huh?

So I guess the moral of the story... check the spinners out, make sure they are tight.
