Glovebox woodgrain

I have the cheyenne woodgrain on my glovebox and it's crooked. It's lower on the left side than the right. The woodgrain finish is wearing off so I was going to put a new decal on it anyway but I was wondering if I could straighten the aluminum piece up first. I'm assuming it's just glued on but I'm not sure how to get it off without bending it. Can it just be heated up with a heat gun maybe? And if so, what should I use to glue it back on?
