That's pretty ugly (there's an oxymoron for ya), Young Lady.
I've seen stuff "grenade" before, but never quite that bad; at least not recently. Judging from the pictures (and I could very well be wrong), I'm going to guess the problem was in the transfer case and not the driveshaft; like maybe something in the transfer case seized & quit turning, but the truck kept rolling along. I also think you're very lucky that the driveshaft didn't dig into the asphalt (bitumen?) & send you down the road in a series of "endos". Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
