How to mount voltage regulator

I know this might be a dumb question but.....How does the voltage regulator mount on our trucks? I took the old one off about a year ago (the rubber mounts disintegrated while removing the bolts) and set it aside while I did other things. I ordered a mounting kit which came with 3 screws and 3 t-shaped rubber grommets about 3/4 inches long. I seem to remember the factory grommets being H-shaped (sandwiching the core support). Any one know how the new kit mounts or did I get the wrong part - DOH
