Mobil Man-Cave
I finally found the perfect restoration piece to go onto the back of the Longhorn, once it is finished! And for only $100...what could possibly go wrong? This is a 1967 Avion camper that is built much like the old Airstream trailers with an aluminum frame and skin, making it much more resistant to water leaks and subsequent dry rot.
Had I known this camper was half way up the mountain to Anthony Lakes and about 4 miles down a logging road behind his cabin...I might have taken a week to scout the operation. The PO had to tow his off-road forklift from his business 14 miles away just to access the camper on the logging road. Despite all that it only took 2 hours to load the camper and crawl out of the woods! We only popped on nylon ratchet strap on the way out of the woods so we felt fortunate. The wife says she won't sleep in it so I guess I am installing a bar and big screen TV!
