Remote Starter Solenoid

I am adding a remote starter solenoid to my truck to help with a hot start problem in addition to a starter shield. I live in Washington State where it likes to get real wet, real often and the truck lives outside.

I am wondering where to mount it. Too high on the inner fender and there is a constant drizzle from the hood lip. Towards the front of the apron and you get water coming in through the radiator at speed, at the rear, moisture dripping from the rear of the cowl at the hood or a heater core leak. Mount it to the frame and it is exposed to splash up from the wheel and heat from the exhaust.

I am thinking about mounting it in the little recess towards the bottom of the apron as indicated by the pic. Let me know what you think or pictures of what you have done. Thanks.
