Dirt in My RADIATOR...

ok i flushed radiator and i noticed it was brown. i first thought that it was rust and thought to myself oh ^%#$ here we go with this but i decided to see what it felted like so i grabbed it and was confused because it was dirt. how does dirt get in there and how do i get it all out. Can it pose any major problems.
