Transmission crossmember

OK, last night I went to remove the tranny crossmember so that I can reposition it for the 700r4. I could not get the upper bolts out. I have to lift the cab enough to get them out; is this just because my body mount bushings are so worn? I have a new bushing kit, so I plan on replacing them, but can I do it without taking the cab all the way off, i.e. one corner at a time or front then back?

Being as the bed and front clip is off, is it just the gas line, brake master cylinder, and the 4 bolts that hold the cab on; maybe it would be worth it to clean and paint the frame under there and the botttom of the cab.
